Kanako comes from the southwest area of Japan. From there, she found a path to Ireland and traditional Irish music. When she first came to Ireland a decade ago, Kanako was heavily influenced by accordion music that she heard in the various sessions around Galway city, and began learning the button accordion on her own. She now resides in Co. Galway with her family, and can be seen in the vibrant session scene in and around the Galway city area.
Brian McGrath comes from Brookeborough, Co. Fermanagh. Brian started playing piano at the age of five and progressed to accordion, banjo and mandolin. Brian has played with many musical collaborations over the years - Dervish, Four Men and a Dog, Frankie Gavin and Noel Hill, Matt Molloy and John Carty, At the Racket, De Danann to name but a few... He has also played on hundreds of albums to date, as well as having done extensive TV and media work.

Absolutely sensational - love the generally low-end tones and planxty-esque set up, but most of all the incredible energy of it! Wish more instrumental trad was like this, love the fact that it's recorded live too. Prangman

Fans of tenor banjo who scour the digital bins of BC will inevitably come across the same few albums as the other banjo-heads out there. It's like a shared journey that will become a literary trope in the dystopian trans-human future where we read search histories as though they're archeological relics of the past. I would like to take this moment to say hello to my fellow Banjocamp mariners. This album is awesome, and it magically sounds different every time you listen to it. đȘ~~*đ* Magic! đź acmochi
